‘American Idol’ Alum Claps Back at Bizarre Pregnancy Conspiracy Theories
Jax issued a direct response this week to the people who have raised questions about her pregnancy.
The American Idol alum, who competed on the competition show when the 14th season aired in 2015, announced last fall that she and husband Brave Gregg are expecting their first child together. But as Jax revealed on Instagram on Wednesday, Jan. 29, not all of her social media followers believe that her pregnancy is real.
One screenshot that she posted on Instagram Stories included a view of a couple of Instagram comments that read, “it’s a fake belly help ToT” and “if you look closely you can tell it’s fake.”
In a text overlay included with the snapshot, Jax wrote, “people saying my pregnant belly is fake was not on my 2025 bingo card 😂.”
The singer followed up that initial post with a video that she also shared on Instagram Stories. In the clip, Gregg could be seen resting his head against Jax’s belly as he explained the situation to their unborn child.
“A lot of people on the internet think that you’re living in a fake belly,” he said as his wife chuckled in the background. "I know they’re idiots. I know you’re real, though.”
Jax confirmed his statement as she declared, “You are real” before adding, “She kicked today. I saw it.”
“That was a pretty good kick,” Gregg agreed. He then made a request of their unborn child, urging, “Go easy on your mom. Don’t hurt her bladder or kidneys.”
The expecting couple first revealed Jax’s pregnancy in late October 2024. A video that she posted on Instagram explained that the pregnancy followed a couple of miscarriages that occurred earlier in the year.
In late November 2024, Jax and Gregg shared a gender reveal video on Instagram that announced they are expecting a girl. Their rainbow baby is due in May.
