TikToker's amazing Kmart $30 mirror hack gives it the ultimate luxe look
Kmart is great for finding fabulous homewares at bargain prices but what do you do if you love one of their pieces but the colour doesn't match your current decor?
TikTok users Keeley and Jam found a $30 mirror that they loved from the discount retailer but wanted to give it a bit of lift, gilding it to give a much more luxurious look to the item.
For just $16 for a can of spray paint, the couple created a more expensive-looking mirror that fitted better with their overall home aesthetic.
The couple from Melbourne sprayed the edge of the mirror with the metallic paint and in no time had a unique piece for their home that was lighter and brighter than the original Kmart find.

Sometimes it's the small things that can make all the difference to the look and feel of a piece for your home and their fans agreed that they got a fabulous result.
"Looks great," fellow DIY fans Em and Cam said on Instagram.
Em and Cam had also used the mirror recently in their bathroom renovation.
"I can't believe how much this mirror has modernised the bathroom!" they wrote on their post.
The mirror is also hugely popular and versatile with people sharing their uses from the bedroom and hallway to the bathroom on various Facebook Kmart mum and DIY groups.
One group member from Brisbane gave it her own hack to create a coastal look that suited her home and got over 100 comments from impressed followers.
"That looks so amazing. I just got that mirror last week and giving it a new look was something I didn’t think about but now will do that. Thanks for the inspiration," one mum enthused.
"I might have to steal your mirror idea! So clever!!!" another added.
One ingenious mum decided to take hacking a step further turning the mirror into an on-trend coffee table.
"Hubby and I wanted a new coffee table but didn’t want to pay the price tag for the one we liked," the young mum posted. "So we hacked the industrial coffee table and got the large round mirror and liquid nailed the mirror to the legs also featured the is the wooden chopping board, round mirror tray and the pineapple, happy hacking Kmart shoppers."
While some group members warned her about it not being tempered glass and therefore being more delicate, others praised her ingenuity.
"I would never have thought, this looks like it’s brought from a store. Great idea," a fan wrote.
