“My mom showed my daughter, and my daughter is now obsessed, and so she's 7, so she's in second grade, and all her friends are obsessed. So now they're starting to recognize me as Sophie, which is a little weird, but how beautiful,” Seyfried continues of her role in the 2008 musical comedy.

“I don't think she quite understands it, but she loves it. She loves it!”

In fact, Nina can’t get enough with just one — she’s a fan of the 2018 sequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, as well.

“She loves both of them, she's like, ‘Can we listen to Mamma Mia! right now?’ Even yesterday, and I was like, ‘Yeah, which one, one or two?’ ” Seyfried tells PEOPLE.

According to the star, Nina’s recent go-to was “one."

“And then we listen, and then she'll be like, ‘No, let's do 'Lay All Your Love On Me.’ And I'm listening to this music with my daughter, who is now understanding and they're appreciating it in a way that,” she continues, calling the moments “trippy.”

Seyfried also tells people that rescuing pets teaches her kids "a lot about life... and responsibility and saving and creating space for animals that don't otherwise would have been no longer if they'd stayed in the situation they were in, and to advocate for them and to take care of them, to teach, to care for them in general."

"It's just like that's a lesson in itself for kids, and when you add that rescue element to it, you really understand how much of a gift that is, and the fact that they can do it," Seyfried continues. "They have the power to do it."

Seyfried’s Mamma Mia! costar, Christine Baranski, who plays Tanya in the franchise, recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the possibility of a third installment of the film — which also stars Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, and more.

"I was in London with [producer] Judy Kramer at our favorite watering hole, she is planning Mamma Mia 3. She gave me the narrative plotline of how it’s going to happen. That’s all I can say!” the actress told the outlet in an interview published on Aug. 13.

Baranski also referred to Kramer as the type of producer who “makes things happen” instead of saying that she “[wishes] it could happen.”

The Gilded Age actress added that the producer “made” Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again “happen,” calling the film “a phenomenal hit,” so she “wouldn’t put it past” her “to get everybody back together.”

“We’ll all be on some fabulous Greek or Croatian island having a blast,” Baranski said of her perfect storyline. “I hope.”

As for Seyfried, during a 2021 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, she already shared that she would be down to keep the franchise going.

"If it was up to me, yes, of course, there would be eight Mamma Mia!s. Do you know how much fun that is?" she said at the time.
