Alli Simpson says she wants to be the next Bachelorette: 'Switch things up'

EXCLUSIVE: Alli spills on her Amazing Race experience and future reality TV plans.

She’s survived I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, sung her heart out on The Masked Singer and raced around the world on The Amazing Race, but now Alli Simpson has her sights set on another popular reality show.

The 25-year-old model and TV personality tells Yahoo Lifestyle she’d love to star on The Bachelorette and bring the series out of its current hiatus.

“I would so be down for that. I would love to do that,” she says, adding that the dating show would be a welcome change to her recent adventure-based reality TV stints.

“I've done all these crazy shows, I'm like, can’t I do something a little bit more glamorous next time? On I’m A Celebrity and Amazing Race I'm looking like s**t and I have no makeup.

“Wouldn't it be nice to do a glamorous show like The Bachelorette or a dating show? Something fun and flirty to switch things up.”

Alli teased a potential romance with her Amazing Race co-star Harry Jowsey at the beginning of the season, telling producers she and the Too Hot To Handle star had “exchanged a few DMs over the last few years”.

However, she shares with Yahoo Lifestyle that the competitive environment and extreme conditions racing around the world made it difficult for any of the contestants to form a romantic connection.

“You’re so in the zone that you don't even care about what you look like or what you say to other people, you just want to race and you want to win,” she laughs.

“[Harry and I] had never actually met in person, so it was cool to really get to know him and he's just an absolute sweetheart. He and Teddy [Briggs] were always looking after mum and they’re gorgeous souls.”

'They would be a great team'

Speaking about her time on The Amazing Race with her mum Angie, Alli describes it as a “once-in-a-lifetime experience”.

“It was the worst thing we ever did but the best thing we ever did because it was so difficult,” she remarks, adding that she found it “harder” than her time on I’m A Celebrity.

“It was an unbelievable experience and we just had the time of our lives. I would do it all over again - maybe minus eating the bull’s penis and spiders, but I’d still want to do it all again. It was just unreal, it truly was amazing.”

Alli, who is competing on behalf of Dementia Australia, adds that her brother Cody Simpson and his partner Emma McKeon have loved watching the reality show.

“Cody and Emma were watching it yesterday catching up on 10 Play and sending me videos laughing at us, so it's been really good,” he shares.

“He probably would have done it [with me] if he wasn't swimming, if he wasn't going for Paris [Olympics]. I'm putting Cody and Emma to the test to do it once they both retire. I'm like, they should do it. I'm onto something here, they would be a great team.”
