Alison Brie's Evil-Lyn will face off against Nicholas Galitzine's He-Man in “Masters of the Universe”

The "GLOW" star will serve as a villain — presumably alongside the iconic antagonist Skeletor — in the live-action adaptation of the toy franchise.

Alison Brie has been summoned to Eternia.

The Community star will play the villainous Evil-Lyn in Amazon's upcoming live-action Masters of the Universe movie, which also stars  Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man and Camila Mendes as Teela. Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings, Bumblebee) is directing the film, which will be the latest iteration of the '80s fantasy toy franchise that was previously adapted into a live-action movie, an animated movie, and numerous animated series.

In the Masters universe, Evil-Lyn serves as the second-in-command to the main antagonist, Skeletor, and possesses a mastery of witchcraft and sorcery. Linda Gary provided the character's voice in the '80s cartoon He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, while Meg Foster played her in the 1987 live-action movie that starred Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor.

In later MOTU projects, Evil-Lyn operates independently from Skeletor — she betrays him to seize more power in the 2002 version of the series (in which she's voiced by Kathleen Barr), and fills the void left by his apparent death in Kevin Smith's 2021 revival  Masters of the Universe: Revelation (here played by Lena Headey).

With Brie now set to play his right-hand-woman, Skeletor remains the biggest MOTU character yet to be cast in the upcoming movie. The skull-faced villain was most recently voiced by Mark Hamill in Revelation — and since the three cast members in the live-action movie skew fairly young, it's likely that the antagonist may be portrayed by a performer in their twenties, thirties, or early forties.

Brie's most notable performances have primarily come on the small screen, leading three seasons of GLOW after prominent supporting turns on Community and Mad Men. She's also had supporting roles in significant films like Promising Young Woman, The Post, The LEGO Movie, The Disaster Artist, and Scream 4. Brie has also led smaller-profile movies like Horse Girl, Sleeping with Other People, The Rental, and last year's Somebody I Used to Know and Freelance.
