Aldi's Special Buys set to include bestselling cult bedroom item

If you missed out on your chance at nabbing a weighted blanket at Aldi earlier this year, you may be in luck with the supermarket chain set to restock the popular item once again as part of their Special Buys.

The blankets previously sold out in minutes when they went on sale in January, so you better be quick if you want one this time around!

They'll hit shelves on Wednesday August 5 and are selling for just $89.99, normally a weighted blanket retails for around $200.

Aldi is selling two different weights, the 6.8kg blanket is suitable for those who weigh between 55kg to 80kg, and the 9kg version is suitable for this who weigh more than 80kg.

According to Healthline, weighted blankets help people with anxiety, insomnia and other conditions as the extra weight mimics a therapeutic technique called deep pressure stimulation which relaxes the nervous system.

On Facebook, one Aldi shopper said the blankets "will last [five] minutes" before being snapped up.

One user said they had already seen them at her local Aldi store two days ago!

Others suggested that if buyers can't get the blankets from Aldi, they can try Spotlight or Big W, who both sell them for similar prices.

Someone wrote, "Spotlight have them 50% off. Depends on weight but from $50 to $80. 7kg is $70."

Another added, "I got mine from Big W for the same price (7kg $89) if you miss out."

Aldi is also selling 1000 thread count fitted sheet sets for $79.99 for a queen and $89.99 for the king size.
