The Aldi mums are in an uproar, and when Aldi's loyal followers are upset, you know something's amiss; Aldi is practically sacred ground for its devotees. But what's causing all the fuss? A seemingly minor change in the retailer's Goliath brand baking paper has resulted in nothing short of a kitchen catastrophe.

One woman has taken to the Aldi Mums Facebook group to vent her frustration, saying, "Is anyone else's baking paper absolute dog sh*#%? We just finished our last 90-metre roll which was great, and opened the new one I bought last time it was on sale, and everything sticks to it. The last lot was fabulous but this one I'm about to chuck in the bin!"

Immediately, others chimed in to commiserate, detailing their own experiences of kitchen disasters. "I literally threw my whole roll of that in the bin because it just stuck to everything. It was infuriating!" exclaimed one person. "You should be taking it back, I did and got my money back," another advised.

"They must have changed the paper because the new roll I got keeps catching fire, it's really bad quality," warned a third.

And the complaints kept coming.

"Ugh, they changed something and now it's absolute crap. I usually buy it also but was shattered when I started using the new box and everything sticks to it!" lamented another.

"It's crap and always has been," declared one disgruntled customer. "Have had mine almost catch fire and everything sticks to it," echoed another. "Cannot wait til I finish mine then will never buy it again," said one exasperated Aldi shopper.

Some customers shared their struggles using the paper for specific tasks, with one person saying, "I just purchased this to use in our school canteen and all the pizzas stuck to it. It's terrible!"

Indeed, a quick look at productreviews.com magnifies the concerns of Aldi mums exponentially, with countless pages filled with complaints.

"Most useless baking paper I've ever used, if I didn’t have to leave a star I definitely wouldn’t be," reads one review, with another stating, "this is the WORST baking paper I have ever used. End of story."

"Can I give it less than one star?" Wrote another.

However, some customers said they didn't share the same concern. "I have the smaller roll and it's fine," noted one person, implying that the issue might be specific to certain sizes or batches.

"Maybe there's something different about the longer roll?" speculated one user.

Amid the sea of complaints, there were also a few glimmers of hope. "I use it as tracing paper for my kids now," shared one person, turning a kitchen nightmare into an art project.

While some recommended returning the problematic paper, others offered advice on salvaging it, suggesting spraying it with olive oil before use or scrunching it up.

But until Aldi resolves this baking paper debacle, many loyal customers will seek alternatives, with Multix being a popular choice or turning to creative solutions for repurposing. After all, necessity is the mother of invention!
