Aldi Australia’s Lazzio beans have won big at the 2024 Golden Bean Australiasia Awards.
Aldi has won a major award for a kitchen staple that most of us rely on every day – coffee! Aldi Australia’s Lazzio beans, which are roasted by Melbourne-based Black Bag Roasters, have won the Overall Large Chain Champion category at the 2024 Golden Bean Australiasia Awards.
Lazzio coffee beans are the heroes we all need during this cost-of-living crisis, with a cup of coffee coming in at just $0.30, offering a little luxury for much less. The full range consists of 10 coffee blends and Lazzio won another 14 Golden Bean medals in various categories.
Black Bag Roasters have been supplying the award-winning coffee to Aldi exclusively, and over the past decade, they have increased coffee production from four tonnes a week in 2014 to 65 tonnes a week now.

"Massive coffee snob here, and the Lazzio medium and dark is a damn fine drop for the price," yet another said. "It ain’t Pablo and Rusty - but for a general purpose coffee it’ll save you a fortune. Better than most of the stuff I buy out."
"I’m a barista and I buy the dark roast beans. Such a great coffee and often better than I can buy out at a coffee shop," one connoisseur added.
"I am a total coffee snob have gone from St Ali and All Press beans both $60 per 1kg bag to the Aldi beans but the dark roast in the black bag," someone else shared. "They are the best!!"
