He sought help from bariatric surgeon Dr. Younan Nowzaradan (known as Dr. Now) in Houston, Texas, through video consultations. But was Hawkins able to change his ways and qualify for weight-loss surgery?

Gary Hawkins' weight loss journey in My 600-Lb Life Season 13, Episode 3.

By the time he was 10, Hawkins estimated he was "pushing 200 pounds." He explained that his weight spiraled out of control in middle school and high school because of his binge eating habits. Hawkins dropped out of high school and eventually became immobile because of his weight.

After speaking with Dr. Now during a video call, he was connected with a physical therapist to get him walking again and prescribed a strict diet of 1,200 calories per day.

One month later, Hawkins weighed in at a nearby weight loss clinic in California, where he learned his weight: 764 pounds—up from 745 pounds one month before.

He weighed in at 759 pounds eight months into working with Dr. Now.

After 12 months, Hawkins' final weigh-in on My 600-Lb Life was 753 pounds.

Dr. Now continued to offer physical therapy to Hawins but didn't provide more chances to lose weight so that he could work with him in his Texas office. By the end of the episode, Hawkins could take several steps with the help of a walker.

Hawkins has not publicly posted updates on his weight loss journey to his Facebook account after his My 600-Lb Life appearance. Because he has not shared photos or videos, it's unclear how he is doing today.
