A Nevada woman has died after falling while climbing at the Red Rocks.

Police received a call about a climber who fell along the Community Pillar climbing route at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area around 5:30 p.m. local time on Saturday, Jan. 18, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.

The department's search and rescue team was already assisting a group of stuck climbers when the second call came in, ABC affiliate KNTV and NBC affiliate KSNV reported.

Police said the climber — identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office as 30-year-old Micah Manalese, according to KNTV — was pronounced dead at the scene. Her climbing partner was not injured.

Manalese’s boyfriend, identified by the Las Vegas Review-Journal as Robert Hiett, posted a heartfelt tribute to his late girlfriend on his Instagram.

“This weekend, I lost my best friend, my partner in crime, my girlfriend. I am crushed 💔,” Hiett wrote alongside several photos of himself and Manalese on various outdoor adventures.

“Micah was a truly special person,” he said. “She was outgoing, courageous, and a blessing to anyone who had the chance to meet her. I will always cherish the time we spent together. She absolutely meant the world to me, and I wish we could have shared more of this world with each other.”

Joseph De Luca, who was with the first group being tended to by rescuers, told KSNV he watched the woman fall a significant distance. He asked her if she was okay, but she said she was not.

“I've been in the industry long enough and seen a few things, I knew it was a fatality pretty much right away,” De Luca explained. “You don't survive something like that.”

More than $32,500 has been raised through a GoFundMe campaign started to support Manalese’s family with funeral expenses and other forms of relief following her tragic death.

“Rock climbing was her absolute favorite activity to do,” the fundraiser's organizer wrote. Manalese was described as a “strong and ambitious” woman who “had been climbing since 2014.”

“It’s hard to come to terms with this tremendous loss,” the organizer added. “Micah was extremely thoughtful and loving, whether it be with friends, family, and even strangers. Wherever she went, she was always spreading joy. She valued spending time with her loved ones. She was everything a mother, father, and sister could ask for. And she was loved back by everyone.”
