"Into The Spider-Verse" Star Shameik Moore Is Under Fire For Refusing To Take Down A Video Of Laura Harrier After She Asked Him To

I wake up to X (formerly known as Twitter) like it's my morning paper, so here's the latest drama:

Earlier this week, Spider-Man: Homecoming's Laura Harrier posted a TikTok calling out Shameik Moore, who voices Miles Morales in the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse franchise, for sharing a video of them that garnered a lot of unwanted attention and speculation.

Shameik shared an old video of them taking pictures together with the caption, "Coming soon." It immediately sparked dating rumors, despite Laura being engaged to Paris-based creative consultant Sam Jarou. Known for being a private person, Laura was forced to speak out about it.

"I keep seeing all these videos that I'm being tagged in with another actor, and people speculating what that is," Laura said while eating a bowl of soup. "It's really annoying me because I'm literally engaged, and that's important to me."

"I'm in Hollywood, I get it. People do PR stunts, whatever. People like to get attention. But when he first posted that video, a friend sent it to me and was like, 'Do you know that he put this up?' Like, no, because that [video] was taken a year ago at a party, when someone asked us to take photos together."

Genuinely confused by the timing of his post, she texted Shameik, asking him to take down the video. She told him that she's getting married and didn't appreciate the "insinuation that something's going on between us, if that was your intention."

"It's still up, which is fucking weird," Laura added. You're a fucking weirdo! I'm sorry, you're a fucking weirdo. And I'm fucking annoyed. So, I just wanted to say something because I don't like that. I don't like that."

Laura revealed that the two of them "aren't close," and that she just knows him from Hollywood. Not only did Laura feel like her marriage was "being disrespected," but she also felt like she was personally being disrespected.

Laura kept the video up for a few hours before ultimately deleting it. But it was up long enough for Shameik to see it.

She shared another video on TikTok directed to Shameik, and deleted it as well, but the reactions were clear.

Well, earlier today, he issued an apology video on TikTok, explaining why he posted it in the first place.

"This is all a misunderstanding," Shameik said. "Unfortunately, it's public. It's really the fan-fiction...the commentary. That's what's fucking weird."

"I mean no harm. I have no ill intent. It's about art for me. The video had the aesthetic of the song, that's it. [I] wasn't insinuating no relationship. I apologize for the misunderstanding. I do."

While others couldn't help but think this might be a pattern for Shameik, who fans seemingly believe repeatedly shot his shot and missed horribly at his Spider-Verse co-star Hailee Steinfeld (who also recently got engaged).
