Yes, Dwayne Johnson Does Pee In Bottles While On Film Sets
Dwayne Johnson is leaking some news about his excretory habits — he sometimes pees in bottles while on film sets.
The pro wrestler-turned-actor came clean about the urination habit in a GQ video cover story published Monday and explained that it’s about efficiency since going to the restroom on set might cost precious time.
“Yeah. That happens. … I’ve said a thousand times: ‘Hey, I’m here. Come and ask me. And I’ll tell you the truth,’” Johnson told the magazine, while downplaying potential issues such as where he puts the bottles when he’s done.
News of Johnson’s occasional on-set practice first became public in April after The Wrap reported on the filming of his new Christmas movie, “Red One,” and alleged that the actor’s chronic lateness ― sometimes being eight hours late ― caused the film’s budget to balloon to $250 million.
Johnson admitted he was often late to the set, but not to the level mentioned in The Wrap’s story.
“Yeah, that happens too,” Johnson told GQ. “But not that amount, by the way. That was a bananas amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous.”
“Red One” director Jake Kasdan also told the magazine that while Johnson “can be late sometimes,” he “never missed a day of work” on the film.
“Honestly, I’ve made three big movies with him. I’ve never seen him be anything but great to every single person on the set,” Kasdan said.
Johnson’s co-star, Chris Evans, also dismissed the actor’s on-set actions.
“I found Dwayne to be — we all know exactly what he’s going to do when he’s going to do it,” Evans told GQ. ”He comes in slightly later on certain mornings, but it’s part of the plan. It’s worked into the schedules and everyone knows it, so he shows up when he’s scheduled to show up.”
“Red One,” which also stars J.K. Simmons, hits theaters this Friday.
