A bride-to-be wasn't going to waste her wedding party after catching her fiancé cheating.

31-year-old Lindsay Slater of Nottingham, England decided to host the $46,000 planned wedding party renaming it a 'celebration of freedom' after finding out that her former fiancé had an affair.

According to New York Post, Slater had been with her partner for 12 years before discovering that he had cheated.

After the man left their family home after being confronted about the cheating, Slater canceled the ceremony - which had been scheduled for Saturday, Aug.17, but decided to use the reception party as a “celebration of freedom.”

The solicitor then messaged her guests about what happened and even made a Facebook post about it, per NYP.

According to the outlet, the “freedom” reception was attended by around 60 to 70 guests and was filled with speeches, food and a DJ party. A bartender was also present, making bellinis and martinis.

Despite the party’s change in purpose, the bridesmaids still sported their pre-planned gowns, while Slater was dressed in her $1,600 Charlotte Elizabeth Bridal cropped wedding dress.

Guests were then treated to a meal of fish cakes, a chicken dinner and chocolate fudge cake, while the party featured empowerment songs such as "It’s Not Right, but it’s OK" by Whitney Houston, "Strong Enough" by Cher and "Survivor" by Destiny’s Child.

Slater’s friend and maid of honor Beth also held up a sign that read, “and she lived happily ever after…”

”I didn’t know how I was going to survive. I was distraught — it was too late to go back on the wedding plans. All that money had been spent,” Slater told the New York Post. “But there was a big part of me who thought ‘I’m free’ — it’s the start of a better era.”

Following the party, the celebrant then traveled to her honeymoon in Crete, Greece on Aug. 20, where she spent seven days at a resort with her pal.

“I’m glad I did it — I really enjoyed the day,” she continued. “I was so surprised at how supportive everyone was — it was so empowering. I was surrounded by so much love — really reminded me that I didn’t need him.”
