Though his girlfriend, Zendaya, was nominated for a Golden Globe—earning a nomination for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy), for Challengers—Tom Holland was nowhere to be found at tonight’s awards ceremony. Instead, the Euphoria star made a solo appearance at the Beverly Hilton, wearing a rusty-orange gown.
Tom's absence, however, isn’t unusual. The actor wasn’t nominated for a Golden Globe tonight, nor was he slated to present. He and Zendaya also tend to keep their relationship out of the spotlight and away from high-profile events. While Zendaya spent the last year promoting her latest films, Dune: Part Two and Challengers, Tom was spotted quietly supporting her from the sidelines on the press tour for the latter film.
In fact, the couple haven’t walked a red carpet together since December 2021, when they attended the world premiere of their Marvel movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home. It was just earlier that year when the two were spotted kissing in a car in Los Angeles, confirming their romantic link.
“One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn’t really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world,” Tom reflected in a 2021 interview with GQ. “I’ve always been really adamant to keep my private life private, because I share so much of my life with the world anyway.”
