Why Taylor Swift (Likely!) Skipped Travis Kelce and the Chiefs' Christmas Day Game
Looks like Taylor Swift is officially skipping the Chiefs' Christmas Day game. The Grammy winner didn't show up to Travis Kelce's game against the Steelers in Pittsburg on December 25–which actually isn't a huge surprise considering she hasn't been attending away games this season!
As one source put it to Page Six, “She’s not going anywhere unless she knows the venue intimately and it has been thoroughly scouted and secured in advance." And as another noted, “If she is going to a place that isn’t Arrowhead, there are security concerns. She has worked with Arrowhead so many times, they feel at ease and comfortable. Going to all kinds of different stadiums, you need to send a team in advance.”
Taylor was in attendance at the Chiefs game last Christmas (which took place at Arrowhead stadium), and even showed up wearing a Santa hat for good measure.
She was also in attendance at Travis' game last weekend, and arrived wearing an on-theme red faux fur coat, paired with a black bucket hat.
Tay and Travis recently celebrated the end of the Eras Tour with a party attended by friends and family in Kansas City. According to Tay's friend Ashley Avignone, she "thought she was going to a small, quiet dinner but it was actually a giant surprise party with her friends and family, props included."
“Travis had this surprise party planned for a while now and it was something he knew he wanted to do,” a source told Page Six. “Travis wanted to throw Taylor a surprise party because she deserved a huge celebration after all the hard work she’s put in.”
