Johnny Depp and Amber Heard celebrated their wedding in one stunning settin.

With just two dozen seats set up on Sunday in front of a white marquee on a picturesque beach on Depp's private island, Little Hall's Pond Cay, in the Bahamas, it was a quite, close knit affair set on the 18-hectare island, which Depp bought for a reported $4.6 million in 2004.

While Depp, 51, and Heard, 28, held their wedding bash this weekend, a source told WHO that the two first got legally married at their home in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The pair revealed their engagement in January 2014, with Heard stepping out sporting a large sparkler on her ring finger. They were quickly seen out together on several public date nights, from film premieres to awards ceremonies.

The couple, who met on the set of 2011's The Rum Diary, have weathered rumours that their relationship was on the rocks, with a source telling WHO in December that the two had hit a rough patch.

But they put the kibosh on that earlier this year, when they stepped out together at the 8th Annual Heaven Gala in Los Angeles on January 11 and shared a very public display of affection throughout the evening.

The outspoken Heard, whose last long-term relationship was with photographer Tasya Van Ree, "is a female version of Johnny," a longtime Depp friend told WHO shortly after the couple's engagement.

"She's sort of kooky and outspoken, and while that would intimidate many guys, it is a turn-on for Johnny."

With Heard now living full-time at Depp's secluded West Hollywood estate, she has grown close to his kids from his 14-year relationship with French actress-singer Vanessa Paradis: Lily-Rose, 15, and Jack, 12, of whom he and Paradis share custody. Paradis, meanwhile, has moved on with new beau Benjamin Biolay.

It is Austin native Heard's first marriage and the second for Depp, who was married to makeup artist Lori Anne Allison from 1983 to 1986.
