The White Lotus Season 3 Trailer: A Trip to Thailand Turns Troublesome for the HBO Drama’s New Vacationers
Hear those calming chimes? Yep, it’s check-in time once again at The White Lotus.
HBO’s luxury hotel dramedy is jetting off to Thailand for Season 3, and we now have our first look, courtesy of a new trailer that dropped on Monday. In the trailer, which you can watch above, a fresh crop of unhappy rich people are whisked away to a stunning tropical getaway in Thailand. “Our hotel is the best in the world,” an employee boasts, promising that “at the end of the week, you will be an entirely different person.” (And some of these people might need that.)

Not everyone is impressed, though. A guest played by Parker Posey sniffs to a staffer, “We usually go to the Caribbean.” Natasha Rothwell is back as Season 1’s spa manager Belinda, eager to soak up all the spiritual knowledge she can: “I want to learn everything I can and bring the magic back to Maui.” Plus, a trio of friends played by Carrie Coon, Michelle Monaghan and Leslie Bibb are ready to get their groove back. “What happens in Thailand stays in Thailand,” one of them declares. Translation: “We’re not dead yet.”
But as usual, there’s a dark undercurrent here as well. “Everyone who comes to Thailand, they’re either hiding from someone or they’re looking for someone,” an employee muses, as we see Walton Goggins’ character gaze at an old photo. A guest played by Jason Isaacs screams into the phone: “What am I supposed to tell my family? ‘We’re poor now, and Daddy’s going to prison!'” There’s a crime spree on the island, too, with masked gunmen pulling off brazen robberies in broad daylight. And this being The White Lotus, we spot a dead body, as well. “Go big or go home, right?” a staffer asks Belinda. Her response: “Mmm-hmmm. In a g—damn body bag.”
Series creator Mike White returns as writer and director in Season 3, and the cast also includes Patrick Schwarzenegger (Gen V), Aimee Lou Wood (Sex Education), Sarah Catherine Hook (First Kill), Sam Nivola (White Noise), Nicholas Duvernay (Bel-Air), Scott Glenn (The Leftovers) and Lisa, from K-pop girl group Blackpink.
Season 3 of The White Lotus debuts Sunday, Feb. 16, at 9/8c on HBO, and will also stream on Max. Press PLAY above for a sneak peek, and give us your first impressions in a comment below.
