Wheel of Fortune Helps Orchestrate a Surprise Marriage Proposal — WATCH

This marriage proposal will be a Wheel hard one to beat.

Thursday’s Wheel of Fortune continued its 50th anniversary celebration with a special surprise. Former contestant Rhea Mathew, who had appeared on the show in October 2023, returned under the guise of participating in a segment for the milestone event. However, the real twist was revealed when her boyfriend, Robin Kuriakose, orchestrated an elaborate marriage proposal.

Everyone on the show, including hosts Vanna White and Ryan Seacrest, were in on the surprise when Mathew solved the fill-in-the-blank puzzle for “Will You Marry Me?” When her boyfriend then appeared from backstage, her jaw dropped as she realized what was happening. And she said yes! Which is always a nice ending to such stories.

When Wheel of Fortune social correspondent Maggie Sajak interviewed an unassuming Mathew before the proposal, the returning player said, “I actually brought someone very special with me today. I brought my boyfriend Robin. He’s one of my biggest supporters, so I’m really excited to share this magic with him.”

After the grand moment, Mathew commented that she was still in “shock,” while Kuriakose thanked everyone at Wheel of Fortune for accommodating them and making the big moment happen.
