All the Intel on the 73rd Miss Universe Competition for 2024, Including the Winner

The three-hourlong Miss Universe competition streamed live on Nov 16 from Arena Ciudad de México, where 125 women from around the world competed for the coveted title of Miss Universe. When the ballots were tabulated, the crown for the 73rd Miss Universe was placed on the head of 21-year-old Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark

After a competition, which featured interviews, evening gowns, swimwear, and community impact competitions, Victoria was crowned by the outgoing 72nd Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua.

Here’s everything we know so far, including how to watch for free:

Who Won Miss Universe tonight?

Miss Denmark Victoria Kjær Theilvig, 21, of Søborg took the 73rd crown. Victoria is a Danish entrepreneur, dancer, and beauty queen, who holds a business degree and is an animal advocate.

The final question for the night was: Miss Universe has inspired generations of women, what is your message to the ones watching you right now?

And Miss Denmark’s winning answer was, “My message to all the world out there watching is no matter where you come from, no matter what your past, you can always turn it into your strength. It will never define who you are. You just have to keep fighting. I stand here today because I want to change. I want to make history and that’s what I’m doing tonight. Never give up. Follow your dreams and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.”

Prior to that as part of the Top 12, Victoria was asked: How would you live your life differently if you knew nobody would judge you?

She said, "I would never change how I live my life. We learn from our mistakes. We learn every day. We learn something new and we got to take that and bring it to the future. That’s why I live each day by each day, and I just got to stay positive. So, no, I would not change nothing."
