US influencer roasted for controversial Australia claim: 'Wild'

A US tourist has been viciously roasted on TikTok after sharing her unpopular opinion about Australian coffee.

Travel influencer Erin Fang recently shared a video with advice to fellow travellers about how to make the most of their holiday Down Under.

While she made a valid point about a ferry to Manly being the best vantage point for Opera House photos, she angered Aussies with a huge claim about the country's coffee.

"Next up, don't fall for the coffee," she said.

"Honestly, we heard that Melbourne has the best coffee but it just didn't live up to the hype."

Australia prides itself on its coffee culture, and people were quick to savage the influencer, with one saying, "Australian coffee is among the best in the world".

"Get your tastebuds right miss sugary Starbucks," they added.

"That's because Aussie coffee is actually natural instead of American coffee that's filled with chemicals and sugar," another said.

"I feel like this video was just clickbait to send all the Aussies wild," a third added.

Many could not understand the influencer's coffee snub, with one going as far as to question whether it was a joke.

"Coffee here is the bomb. Just no," one said.

"Is this person serious?" another commented.

"All the Australians are offended by this," somebody claimed.

Later in her video, Erin claimed smashed avocado was Australia's national dish, further angering her followers Down Under.

"Did you just call avocado toast our national dish??? SURELY YOU'RE KIDDING??" one said.

"National dish is a snitty or a cob loaf," another said.

"Why the hell would you call avo toast our national dish," a third added.

"When the hell did smashed avo become our national dish, please Americans stop," a follower fumed.

It comes after an American was savaged after his girlfriend shared a TikTok of him wearing socks on the sand at an Aussie beach.

"Her family needs to have an intervention, you need some pluggas. Most Aussies would have left you at the beach," one commented.

"That's weird," another said alongside a shocked emoji.

"Gotta throw the boyfriend away now," a third added.
