Uma Thurman Joins ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ On Showtime

EXCLUSIVE: Uma Thurman has been tapped as a series regular opposite Michael C. Hall in the Paramount+ with Showtime original series Dexter: Resurrection. The Golden Globe-winning and Oscar and Emmy-nominated actress for her work on Hysterical Blindness, Pulp Fiction and Smash is one of the biggest names to ever enter the Dexter universe.

Production on Dexter: Resurrection, a present-day follow-up to Dexter: New Blood, started in New York this month on the heels of the strong launch of prequel series Dexter: Original Sin, which became Showtime’s most streamed premiere in history with more than 2.1M global cross-platform viewers and also its most social premiere with 657K interactions.

On Dexter: Resurrection, Thurman will play Charley, the Head of Security for mysterious billionaire Leon Prater. A former Special Ops officer, Charley worked various high-level private security jobs before taking on her position as the resourceful and meticulous right-hand woman for Prater.

In addition to Hall, back in the titular role of Dexter Morgan, Thurman joins fellow series regulars David Zayas, James Remar and Jack Alcott who are reprising their Dexter franchise roles as Detective Angel Batista, Dexter’s father Harry Morgan and Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan, respectively.

Dexter: Resurrection, from Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios, is executive produced by Clyde Phillips, who serves as showrunner, Hall, Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns, with Marcos Siega serving as producing director. Monica Raymund is set to direct four episodes, with Siega directing six. The series, set to premiere this summer, is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Thurman recently starred in the Prime Video hit Red, White and Royal Blue, Paul Schrader’s Oh, Canada, which world premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and The Kill Room. Next up, she will be seen in the indie action feature Ballerina Overdrive from 87North and Gulfstream Pictures. Thurman is repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
