‘Twilight’ Star Taylor Lautner’s Next Big Role: Werewolf Hunter
Taylor Lautner, the actor known for playing a hunky werewolf in the film adaptions of Stephanie Meyer‘s Twilight quartet, is officially returning to the world of the supernatural, except this time, he won’t be going back on all fours.
In an exclusive published by Variety, Amazon MGM Studios announced that Lautner will executive produce and star in Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter, a metatheatrical show about Lautner’s life as a Hollywood actor and newly minted werewolf hunter, following him on his quest to save the world from the very same creatures that turned him into the star that he is today.
Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter was brought to Amazon by Tornante, the studio behind animated favorites like Bojack Horseman and Tuca & Bertie.
Although there is no word yet about the rest of the show’s casting, Variety reports that Daisy Gardner, who previously wrote for 30 Rock, Silicon Valley, and Modern Family, is listed as the series creator and showrunner, with Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett taking up the helm as directors and executive producers of the show.
While this will be Lautner’s first time playing himself in a TV series, it certainly won’t be his first foray into the world of comedy or action, as some may remember his “death defying” stunts that he performed in The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, a comedy film for children in which he played the movie’s titular character.
