Travis Kelce gets teased about Taylor Swift friendship bracelets on “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity”: 'What's so funny?'

Things are getting personal for host Travis Kelce in this week's episode of Are You Smarter than a Celebrity.

In a clip from Wednesday's episode of the Prime Video game show, above, the NFL star reads off a math question that seems to reference his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. "Nicole has 98 beads to make 6 friendship bracelets. If each bracelet has an equal number of beads, what is the fewest number of leftover beads she can have?” Kelce asks the contestant, as the audience starts laughing.

"What's so funny guys?" he asks. One of the celebrity contestants, Lala Kent, then teases Kelce by asking him, "Travis, do you know anyone who likes friendship bracelets and things like that?"

Clearly in on the joke, Kelce quips back, "I know a few. Might have converted her to a Chiefs fan but I don’t know. We’ll see."

Friendship bracelets, of course, became ubiquitous with Swift's massive, world-spanning Eras Tour thanks to fans taking the lyric "so make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it" from the singer's Midnights track "You're On Your Own, Kid" literally.

But the sweet, nostalgic jewelry also has a more personal meaning for Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. The couple famously started seeing each other after Kelce publicly stated on his New Heights podcast in July 2023 that he had tried — and failed — to connect with Swift at her Eras Tour show in Kansas City via a friendship bracelet he made with his phone number on it.

"If you're up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it," Kelce told his brother and cohost, Jason Kelce, at the time. He also admitted he was "a little butthurt [that] I didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her."

Apparently his podcast comments didn't go unnoticed by Swift, because rumors started swirling that the two were dating, and this was later confirmed when the duo first stepped out together at Kelce's Chiefs game on Sept. 24, 2023. The two have been dating since.
