Travis Kelce Calls Brother Jason a 'Psycho' for the Lies He Told to Avoid Getting His Kids a Cat
Jason Kelce will do anything to avoid getting his kids a cat, including straight-up lie about the dangers of the domesticated animal.
The recently retired football pro revealed to his brother, Travis Kelce, on the latest episode of their podcast, New Heights, that his latest diversion tactic for the rest of his household's desire for a cat is to tell his three daughters, Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 18 months, that the creatures are "poisonous."
Travis, naturally, was stunned, asking his brother why he'd tell them such a thing.
"... So that they don't want cats,” Jason replied, with a silent but heavily implied, "Obviously."
“And I don't have to deal with having a cat," he added, as though the solution of making his kids "terrified of them” was his most brilliant idea ever.
“That’s sick,” Travis chastised, but Jason brushed it off.
"It's whatever. They'll find out [eventually]," he replied, adding, "I think lying to your kids is important.”
Travis disagreed, particularly "in this regard" as he imagined any of his nieces going "over to a friend's house [and] scream[ing] bloody murder because they see a cat.”
“That's fine," Jason shrugged it off. "That sounds like that person's house problem.”
"You're a psycho," Travis declared through fits of laughter, muttering, "This guy is ridiculous," under his breath, but Jason continued to dig the hole deeper, defending that he needed to "get these kids on my side" before he found himself "in a sinking ship.”
His wife Kylie Kelce is, of course, not on board with his method, as another proponent for the Kelces to become cat parents—even previously threatening to sneak home a cat as payback for his shirtless championship antics—leaving his girls in a position where "they don't know what to believe" as their mom has assured them, "They're not poisonous. Your dad is lying to you."
Meanwhile, Jason is trying to convince them that the government will come and confiscate any pet cats "because they're so lethal that I mean, they can kill you and they don't even have to bite you! Just them licking you — you feel their tongue and it has little needles on it!”
Travis begged the question of why his brother "[has] it out for cats so much," especially after growing up with one.
"I just don't want one," he whispered, but Travis pressed him until he said, "I don't want another animal in the house. My dogs have already ruined the furniture.”
Plus, "there's something about cats that I don't like," though he'd concede to having an outdoor cat in the future.
It’s gonna be hilarious

Naturally, fans are now curious how Jason will course correct when it comes time for his daughters to meet "Auntie TayTay" Taylor Swift's cats, but it sounds like he's planning to just bask in the chaos as it comes, telling one fan on X that the moment is "gonna be hilarious."
