Tom Holland's Dad Says Actor Was 'Incredibly Well Prepared' for Zendaya Proposal: 'They Will Make a Successful Union'
Dominic Holland confirmed the news in a Patreon post on Friday, Jan. 10
Dominic Holland has confirmed his eldest son's engagement.
In a Patreon post shared on Friday, Jan. 10, Tom Holland's father discussed Tom and Zendaya's recent engagement news, while also sharing his thoughts on the Spider-Man costars as a couple.
The 57-year-old father of four began his blog by commenting about how his patrons likely subscribe to him because they're hoping for news about his son. He then offered up a rare insight into the actor's personal life as he touched on Tom's engagement, which was first confirmed on Monday, Jan. 6.
Although he noted he wouldn't be revealing any specific details about the couple's special moment, he did share that Tom, 28, didn't propose on a whim. Instead, his son had every detail thoughtfully planned out.
"Tom, as you know by now, was very incredibly well prepared," Dominic wrote. "He had purchased a ring. He had spoken with her father and gained permission to propose to his daughter. Tom had everything planned out… When, where, how, what to say, what to wear."
This was in stark contrast to his own proposal to Tom's mother, Nicola "Nikki" Holland, he added, noting that he didn't have a ring or parental permission when he popped the question.
After tying the knot, Dominic and Nikki welcomed Tom on June 1, 1996. They also have three younger sons: twins Sam and Harry, and Paddy.
Tom popped the question between the Christmas and New Year's holidays. Since she accepted his proposal, Zendaya, 28, has taken the opportunity to flash her engagement ring on several occasions.

Even though Tom and Zendaya are often in the public eye, Dominic is confident that the soon-to-be groom and bride won't let stardom negatively impact their relationship.

While he said that he does "fret" over the couple's "combined stardom," and all the ways that will push them into the spotlight, he believes the couple will continue to navigate their unique relationship challenges with the same care they have since they first confirmed their relationship in 2021.
"I am completely confident they will make a successful union," Dominic wrote.
The actors — who got matching tattoos before their engagement — might wait a while to get married.
"They will just enjoy things for now and won't rush a wedding," an insider recently told PEOPLE. "They are both busy with work projects."
