Yahoo Lifestyle Lily Allen Said She “Can’t Concentrate On Anything Except The Pain” She’s Going Through As She Shut Down “Vicious Rumors” That She Has Relapsed

In case you missed it, British singer Lily Allen and her Stranger Things husband, David Harbour, have been at the center of tabloid scrutiny for the last few weeks, with it being widely reported that they have split.
While neither Lily nor David have commented on the speculation, unverified sources have claimed that Lily caught David on the celebrity dating app Raya.
For reference, this app is actually how the two first met back in 2019, before they got married in an intimate Las Vegas ceremony the following year.
Amid all of the headlines, some social media users have started to spread rumors about the reason behind Lily and David’s split, including cruel claims that he found her taking drugs after a relapse.
In case you didn’t know, Lily has always been incredibly open about her past drug misuse, and in a 2023 interview with Glamour, she said that her decision to get sober in 2019 may have saved her life.
“I don’t think I’d be married to my husband. I don’t think that my kids would be thriving in the way that they are. I don’t think that I’d have gone into finding acting and how much I enjoy that. I definitely wouldn’t be getting as much sleep,” she said at the time. “At the top of my gratitude list when I go to bed every night is my sobriety.”
And while Lily has not publicly acknowledged the reports that she and David have split, she did hit back at the relapse claims as she opened up about her “spiraling” mental health on Thursday’s episode of her award-winning Miss Me? podcast.
In the episode, Lily told listeners that they won’t be hearing from her for a while as she is taking a break from the show and “going away.”
The news came after Lily spoke candidly about how much she has been struggling in recent months — even revealing that she had to leave the podcast’s team Christmas lunch because she had a panic attack.
“I’m finding it really hard to be interested in anything; I’m just really not in a good place,” the star began. “I know I’ve been talking about it for months, but I’ve been spiraling and spiraling and spiraling, and it’s got out of control.”
“I can’t concentrate on anything except the pain that I’m going through, and it’s really, really hard,” Lily added. “I’m going away next week; you’re not going to hear me for a few weeks, listeners.”
And at this point, Lily took the opportunity to set the record straight when it comes to the various blind items that she has seen online.
“I do want to reassure people, because there will be speculation because of the amount of time that I’m going to be taking away that I’m going to drug rehab, and I’m not,” she pointedly said.
“I’ve not relapsed,” she confirmed. “There’ve been some horrible blind items on the internet about me being found by my husband in a crack den being surrounded by men. I don’t know who’s spreading these vicious rumors, but that’s not true.”
While Lily spoke, her best friend and cohost, Miquita Oliver, couldn’t help but express her shock as she vocally reacted to the wild rumors.
“What?! No!” Miquita gasped. “What?! That would be quite a life spiral, wouldn’t it?”
She then reassured Lily that she would be a “tool” in facilitating her break by looking after their shared podcast.
When Lily has taken time away from the pod in the past, David has actually stepped up to cover for her. However, that seems unlikely this time around.
Although Lily has not confirmed their split — and has even continued to refer to David as her “husband” in recent episodes of the show — she also revealed that she spent Christmas and New Year with just her two daughters, 13-year-old Ethel and 12-year-old Marnie, who she shares with her ex-husband, Sam Cooper.
And when she and Miquita mentioned the male loneliness epidemic on Monday’s episode of the show, noting that some believe it’s a result of fewer women marrying men, Lily bluntly retorted: “They should probably stop acting like dicks.”
BuzzFeed has contacted Lily and David’s rep for comment, but in the meantime, we are wishing Lily a restful break from the podcast and hope that she is feeling better soon.
