Erin Jayne, 42, was a longtime advertorial presenter for Studio 10 as well as shopping channel TVSN. Today Extra host David spoke first about the heartbreaking news.

“Sadly we heard the news yesterday that Erin Jayne had passed away. And she was just a beautiful person, and a friend to many of our colleagues here at Today Extra,” he began.

“We just want to send our thoughts to her family and friends, and show them some love and support in this really, really sad time.”

Sylvia was overcome with emotion as she added: “Much love to her husband and children, and may she now rest in peace.”

A Facebook page about Erin Jayne has been set up, where people are sharing stories and tributes about the presenter.

Her friends, family and fans have been delivering flowers and her favourite red frog lollies to her house, showing how many people she touched. The community has also gathered to create a ‘meal train’, with meals being provided for her family all the way up until July.

“EJ was one of a kind. Caring, thoughtful, loved her family, and her girls were her world. As part of her advertorial world…we will never be the same again. The red frogs, the unpolitically correct conversations, the funny stories we all shared,” one heartbroken friend wrote.

“Our beautiful EJ. The most fun loving, bubbly, ray of sunshine. How can I possibly put down in writing, all the things you meant to me?” another devastated friend wrote.

“Are we all buying the shop next door out of red frogs in honour of EJ?” another asked, referring to her favourite lollies.

"Please join me in lighting a candle for EJ today. Her light could never be replaced, but it will forever be remembered."

Erin Jayne is survived by her three daughters and husband.

Her cause of death is unknown.
