The actor, 29, recently shared a photo on Instagram of himself wearing a denim jacket with colorful patches decorated in various symbols, including flowers and a peace sign.
The patchwork jacket was previously worn by Bob Dylan — who Chalamet portrayed in 2024’s A Complete Unknown — in the 1987 musical drama Hearts of Fire, and sold at an auction. First reported by Vogue, it appears that Chalamet was the mysterious bidder who snagged the win.
Julien’s Auctions, a rock and roll memorabilia auction house, made over $1.5 million in sales during their auction "Celebrating Bob Dylan: The Aronowitz Archive & More" on Jan. 18 at the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville. Among the 60 pieces of Dylan memorabilia was the aforementioned jean jacket, which went for $25,400.

Now, Chalamet appears to be putting the fashion piece to good use. He posed outside in the jacket in his social media post, styling it with a pair of baggy, dark-wash jeans. His face is out of view in the photo, as he walks towards the camera with a house and a ping pong in the background. The actor tagged several of his collaborators in the post, including the "End of the Line" singer.
He recalled the early days of his career in the caption, writing, "Some of you have been rocking with me for over 7 years now (!)…know how deeply grateful I am. and once it’s seven years plus it isn’t a fad lol, ur with me for life now 🥲."

The Call Me by Your Name star has channeled Dylan several times over the last year while promoting his biopic drama, for which he nabbed a Screen Actors Guild Award.
On Feb. 25, the actor attended the 97th annual Academy Awards nominee dinner in Los Angeles in a custom GapStudio look designed by Gap Inc.'s executive vice president and creative director, Zac Posen, that was inspired by Dylan.
He walked the red carpet in a GapStudio Icon Jacket in Duchess Satin, GapStudio Loose Jean in Black Duchess Satin and a GapStudio Classic Tee in Black Silk Jersey. The actor also added Cartier jewelry, sporting a Trinity de Cartier necklace and Les Berlingots de Cartier ring.
Of the custom ensemble, Posen wrote in a press release, "This look transcends fashion. It symbolizes heritage, legacy, and cultural evolution. In the 1960s, Bob Dylan dropped an American anthem with Like a Rolling Stone, and by 1969, Gap was selling jeans and records in its first store — two moments that shaped and bridged culture gaps for generations to come."
A few days later, Chalamet was spotted courtside as the Lakers took on the Minnesota Timberwolves in a vintage jacket that was once owned by the Nobel Prize-winning music icon, according to Vogue. The actor's stylist, Taylor McNeill, seemingly confirmed the reporting by reposting the article to her Instagram Stories.
