TikToker claims she was 'harassed' on flight over 'inappropriate' outfit

A TikTok user has taken to the social media site to reveal she was kicked off an Alaska Airlines flight after her outfit was deemed inappropriate by the crew.

The woman, whose name is Ray Lin Howard and goes by the username @fattrophywife, boarded the flight with her child and was taken off by police after flight attendants approached her three times over her outfit, which featured a sports bra, a top and bike shorts.

In a video that has been viewed over 1.3 million times, Ray shows herself being walked off the flight and then in a room where she tells the police officers what happened on the flight.

"Flight attendant harassed and called the airport police on me for my inappropriate outfit," she captioned the video.

When asked what happened on the flight, Ray tells them she was "harassed" for her outfit with flight attendants at first telling her to put her shirt on over her sports bra, which she did immediately. However, they were still unhappy because they could apparently still see her stomach.

"[I] put the shirt back on, and then they approached me again, saying that I can't wear this, my stomach is showing and it's inappropriate," she explained. "And I said, 'I'm covered up, I'm fine,' and she just kept going. And I said, 'If you're gonna kick me off, then kick me off. I've done what you've asked me to do. I want you to leave me alone.'

"That was the third time they approached me about my outfit. About wearing this outfit. That's why you were called, because of this."

The police officer explained she wasn't in "any criminal trouble", but they were trying to get her side of the story and to find out if any crimes did occur, which he believed did not.

He then explained the airline likely has a dress code policy, but the woman interjects, saying, "I looked at the policy... I did follow the policy though, they told me to look it up, I looked it up, I'm within the dress code."

Many TikTok users commented on the post, saying Ray was within her rights to "file a suit" for "discrimination".

"This airline a high school?" one user joked.

"Please sue them," another wrote.

"As someone who worked for an airline, this is brutal. You did nothing wrong," a third said.

"I seriously think the police have better things to do with their time. This is insane. I'm so sorry this happened to you," someone else added.

Others shared they had also been in the same situation with one user writing, "Alaska Airlines has done it again. They did this to me and I am currently suing."

"OMG yeah they sent me a credit but this happened to me the other day," another said.

Ray later took to TikTok to reveal Alaska Airlines called her and gave her her money back and then tried to compensate her by giving her a discount code to use next time she flies with them.

She also shared a comment from someone who was on the same flight as her, which read: "I was on your flight and the only voice I heard raised at all was the [flight] attendant. This was f'd up. I am glad they let you go and you made your performance. I sent in a complaint to the airline about your being escorted off."
