Colleen Heidemann, 73, who began her modelling career at the age of 69, has taken to TikTok to slam critics claiming her glamorous outfits aren't "age appropriate". The model uses TikTok and her following of almost 320,000 to dismiss senior stereotypes by sharing videos of her workout routines, photoshoots and stunning outfits.
In one viral video from last year, Colleen shares photos of herself in a variety of swimsuits, with the caption reading, "Temperatures are climbing up and I just want to tell you, wear what makes you beautiful."
She added, "Every body is a swimsuit body."
In the video, the text reads, "'This swimwear is not age appropriate', is what they say... I say, 'Wear what makes you feel good!'"
Her followers love her content, with one user writing, "Queen... I am literally speechless every time I see you on here. I hope one day I have that amount of confidence and self love."
"I love that kind of positivity," another said, while a third agreed, writing, "You are such a classy lady! Beautiful just beautiful."
"I don't want to look like that when I'm older, I want to look like that NOW! Gorgeous!" someone else shared.
"You look amazing! Sounds like you've been around some jealous people, keep on with your life," another said.
"You are the sunshine of my day! You are an absolute QUEEN!" yet another fan wrote.
In a more recent video, Colleen encourages people to continue exercising as they get older, with the video showing her at the gym, playing tennis, swimming and riding a bike.
"Be aware and be as active as you are possibly able... DON’T GIVE IN TO LETHARGY — a very real enemy of the body and mind," she writes.
"I love it that you’re enjoying life," one follower commented. "You look good. Ignore any negativity. They’re only envious. Old is a state of mind."
