'I thought I was dead': Sam Ball's horrific accident after MAFS

Sam Ball has certainly been at the centre of the drama on Married At First Sight, and it seems once filming for the show ended, the drama wasn’t over for the Sydney-based tradie.

At the end of last year, Sam was involved in a horrific accident which left him bedridden for a week.

The 26-year-old detailed the incident in a recent interview with TV Week, explaining he fell from the roof of his house and landed directly on a 25cm-long spike on an iron fence.

Whilst Sam’s friends called an ambulance and told him everything was going to be fine, he thought he was “dead”.

“I thought, ‘I’m done here’. It wasn’t good,” he told the publication.

After undergoing surgery on his thigh and a blood transfusion, Sam had to stay in bed for a week but admitted if he had landed differently, then he really could have died.

“It [the spike] hit the thickest part of my leg,” he said. “But if I’d landed any lower on it and penetrated an artery, I would have been dead in three minutes.”

On Monday night’s episode of MAFS, Sam definitely was playing with fire behind ‘wife’ Elizabeth’s as he responded to a direct message Ines, whose ‘husband’ is Bronson.

“Ines is more a girl I’d go for in the real world,” said Sam.

“The temptation’s there. I’m thinking about accepting and seeing what she has to say. I’m quite curious to be honest.”

You’re not going to want to miss tonight’s drama-filled episode of MAFS at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.
