Yahoo Lifestyle “Those Things Are Inevitable”: Chace Crawford Spilled On Secret Hookups While Shooting “Gossip Girl”
In the years that Gossip Girl aired between 2007 and 2012, there were always rumors about the cast — from alleged feuds to off-camera love affairs.
As far as romances go, Blake Lively (Serena) and Penn Badgley (Dan), Ed Westwick (Chuck) and Jessica Szohr (Vanessa), and Leighton Meester (Blair) and Sebastian Stan (Carter) all had real-life relationships after hitting it off on set of the racy teen drama.
And now, Chace Crawford, who famously starred as Nate Archibald, has looked back on his Gossip Girl experience on this week’s episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast — and it sounds like there may have been another off-screen romance that the public wasn’t privy to.

When asked by host Alex Cooper if he’d ever hooked up with a costar, the 38-year-old hesitated nervously before responding: “I would say those things are inevitable.”
“When you’re in your 20s…the thing is you’re on these things, people probably think it’s these sexy scenes or whatever — that’s like the worst part of it, with 60 people watching,” he said, explaining that it’s actually the “downtime” on set where potential romances can blossom.
“You’re doing this show, you’re on set for, like, 12–14 hours a day, and usually there’s some pretty interesting people from all walks of life,” he continued.
Sharing more insight into their social lives while shooting Gossip Girl, Chace said he was lucky to constantly meet new people, even if his dating life was “nonexistent” then. He also revealed that he “absolutely” knew about “secret” hookups between other cast members.
“There’s a lot of actors and people coming onto the show…over the years,” he said. “I was fortunate enough to have friends in the city that were actors but were outside of the show, and I had a really good friend group. And then everyone else has their little friend group. And so you meet people in that wider circle. It’s not just that tiny little circle. There’s a lot of people involved.”
“It was like our college experience,” he added.
