The Voice's Rita Ora stuns with 'selfish' decision: 'I don't want to do this'

Faced with an impossible decision, Rita shocked The Voice audience with an unlikely elimination.

Rita Ora had a tough decision to make in the latest episode of The Voice, leaving the superstar judge emotional.

With her two 'super mums', Tarryn Stokes and Nyree Huyser, competing for a spot in the semi-finals, the two women blew the coaches away with their electric performance of Heart's 'Alone'.

"I cannot believe what I just heard, to be honest," Guy Sebastian said.

"This is the hardest decision I've ever made on this show," Rita said, obviously torn on who to choose and who to send home.

"The winner of the battle for me is... I don't want to do this, but I am actually so torn, I just need more time," Rita said.

"Sonia, do what you gotta do," she said, throwing things back to Sonia Kruger.

Sonia said that Rita could have until all her battles were over to make a decision.

Fast-forward to the end of the episode, and Rita had her remaining teams up together on stage to finally make her decision about the semi-finals.

In a shock move, sent Gezel and Elsa home instead of allowing one of them to go through to the next round, allowing Rita to extend her time with both Tarryn and Nyree as they competed in the 'Sing For Your Life' challenge.

Tarryn chose to sing Demi Lovato's moving power ballad 'Anyone' before Nyree chose Alphaville's 'Forever Young'.

"Just to hear both of you sing again, selfishly, was a treat," Rita said.

"You're both so experienced, you're powerhouses, I keep extending the inevitable," Rita said. "That was the strongest battle I've ever seen."

Rita eventually made a call, choking up while saying she couldn't even "look" at the pair, before sending Tarryn through to the semi-finals.
