The Voice announces brand new line-up of coaches for 2024: 'So good'

After three years with a similar line-up of coaches, The Voice Australia has announced a brand new panel of superstars for 2024.

Channel Seven revealed on Wednesday morning that returning coach Guy Sebastian will be joined by internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter LeAnn Rimes, GRAMMY-nominated artist and actor Adam Lambert, and award-winning Australian singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke.

The foursome will be on the hunt for Australia’s next singing sensation when the reality show returns for its thirteenth season later this year, with Rita Ora, Jessica Mauboy and Jason Derulo stepping away from the series.

In a statement from Seven, Can’t Fight The Moonlight hitmaker LeAnn Rimes said she is “incredibly honoured and excited” to become a coach on The Voice.

“This special chance to mentor and discover new voices throughout Australia is a reflection of the love and support I’ve received from my Australian fans throughout my career,” she shared. “I look forward to returning the love, sharing my experiences, and hearing fresh, promising talent.”

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert, who previously worked alongside Guy on The X Factor Australia in 2016, added that he was “thrilled” to be joining the show this year.

“I have such great memories in Australia and can’t wait to spend some time down under!” he said. “Australia has contributed some iconic talents and artists to pop culture, it’ll be fun to coach the next generation of talent. You can expect some killer song selections, fashion fashion fashion, and of course, a win for Team Adam!”

'This year is going to be killer!'

Classically trained singer and Australia’s 2019 Eurovision representative Kate Miller-Heidke also shared that she's excited to sit on the panel “alongside these incredible singers”.

“The art and craft of singing has been at the centre of my life and I feel like I have learned some things that might be of help to young or inexperienced performers,” she said. “I’ll be looking for people with the soul of an artist; people with something to say; who make you lean in and want to know more about them. And I’m really looking forward to getting to know the other coaches. Bring it on!”

Meanwhile, Guy said it’s “so good” to be back on The Voice for his sixth season - making him the second longest-running coach on the show after Delta Goodrem, who did eight seasons in total.

“It is always very special to be a part of a show that continues to not only uncover fresh Aussie talent but also shine a bright, well-deserved light on so many talented singers,” he remarked. “Adding the insane talent of LeAnn, Kate and Adam on the show this year is going to be killer! They’re all such amazing, world-class artists who I know will bring something fresh and incredible to the season. Let’s go!”

The new season is set to go into production next month and air on Channel Seven later this year, with Sonia Kruger returning as host.
