The Project’s Rachel Corbett announces pregnancy live on-air
The Project star Rachel Corbett has announced that she is expecting her first child.
The TV journalist shared the exciting news during Wednesday night’s episode of the Channel Ten show, with her co-stars Carrie Bickmore, Waleed Aly and Peter Helliar releasing confetti to celebrate.
“I can no longer hold it in because the wardrobe department is sick of trying to hide it… I’m pregnant!” she shouted.
The studio then erupted into applause as the song Celebration began playing and the panellists launched confetti into the air.
Carrie jumped in fright after Peter shot his cannon, while Waleed accidentally shot his backwards.

“Okay, give us the goss, what’s happening? This is amazing, congratulations,” Carrie said as she gave Rachel a hug.
“Thank you my love,” she replied. “I'm doing it solo, which is great for me, but you find when you tell people it is hilarious because they literally think that it's a choice of last resort.
“You go, ‘I’m doing it on my own’ and they’re like, ‘Oh’. And then you have to spend the next 30 minutes explaining that you’re not crying yourself to sleep at night.”
Rachel went on to say that it’s “the perfect decision” for herself and it feels like “exactly the right thing to do”, and also revealed that she’s having a girl.
“I’m really excited,” she added.
‘What a lucky baby’
Rachel later took to social media to share a photo of herself and Carrie holding hands on her stomach and looking excited.
