The Project host divides viewers with 'cringe' rant about royals: 'Disrespectful'
"No wonder I don’t watch this show."
The Project host Nick Cody divided viewers on Tuesday night after he went on a 'rant' about the royal family after King Charles and Queen Camilla shared their Christmas card. The royal couple's card featured a photo of them taken at their coronation, with a simple message that read, "Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year."
"I just want to say what everyone in Australia is thinking right now, thank you. Thanks very much guys, it's a wonderful festive treat that absolutely nobody asked for and yet you delivered," Nick said, as though speaking with Charles and Camilla.
"You two look exactly like a randy couple approaching me at a laneway bar at 3am, about to say you've been watching me all night, and you really dig my vibe. And I love the brazenness of the card statement too. Sure, people in the UK and here in Australia are struggling to pay bills and put food on the table this Chrissy.
"They're doing it tough, but despite all that external noise and the fact you gave yourself a massive 45 per cent pay rise this year, you still found the courage to pose for this picture, while wearing a $9.5 billion hat," he added, referencing the King's crown.

"Your family jewels must be epically large mate, respect," the comedian added, saying he had also made a Christmas card, with a photo of him sitting on the toilet sticking his middle fingers up appearing on screen.
"I hope you enjoy it, like you, I also shot it in May, while sitting in my personal throne room," Nick said with a smile. "To Charles and Camilla, from me, Nick, the colony's other privileged inbred, merry Christmas."
The video was posted to social media, with some viewers loving the rant and others hating it.

"Found it offensive that he said ‘all Australians’. No wonder I don’t watch this show," one Facebook user wrote, describing Nick as "brash" and "ignorant".
"You are disrespectful and a blight on Australia. Whether you like it or not, he is our head of state. Show some respect," another said.
"Your opinion of the royal family and King Charles is your opinion, but don’t you dare speak on behalf of me as an Australian in your royal rant," a third added. "Not all Australians think the same way as you and share the same opinion. And in regards to your Christmas card to the royal family, show some respect and grow up. Your card is just plain offensive and abhorrent."

"The Project is just an embarrassment! Childish schoolboy garbage," a user on Twitter said.
"This bit is just cringe, no wonder no one watches The Project anymore," another said.
Others, however, loved it, with one user writing, "Nick Cody, you have a new fan. Spot on!"
"I love this!" another wrote, with a third adding, "Bizarre the obsession with extremely rich totally dysfunctional family that lives on the other side of the planet."
