The Masked Singer surprise reveal leaves Abbie Chatfield in tears

The popular singing show is back and boasting its biggest reveal yet.

The Masked Singer Australia has dropped a brand new promo for its upcoming fifth season and there looks to be one surprise reveal that catches our celebrity judges off guard.

The show teases it's going to be its "most surprising reveal ever" and by the looks of it, they're not joking: reality star and judge Abbie Chatfield is even seen in tears at one point after an apparent reveal, with fellow judge Mel B exclaiming, "Are you kidding me?"

Judges Chrissie Swan and Dave Hughes are also seen looking shocked, while host Osher Günsberg looks around at everyone's reactions as his own mouth drops.

The last season of The Masked Singer Australia saw former Pussycat Dolls singer Melody Thornton take out the winning spot.

What do we know about season five The Masked Singer Australia so far?

The promo teases a Grammy-winning global superstar, a Hollywood heartthrob, an artist who's sold over a million records, as well as a sporting superstar.

Fans have already taken to Facebook to try and make some early guesses on the clues dropped in the first promo.

"Crash test dummy is F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo," one fan said.

"Sneaky behaviour? Could be Sneaky Sound System band clue," another speculated.

Earlier this year, Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby was spotted in Sydney keeping a very low profile, which had fans speculating that she could've been here filming the singing show.

So far a premiere date for The Masked Singer is yet to be announced.
