Abbie Chatfield tipped to replace Jackie O on The Masked Singer

Less than a month after Urzila Carlson and Dannii Minogue announced that they won’t be returning to The Masked Singer this year, Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has now surprised fans and revealed that she’s also leaving the show.

The radio host, who has been a panellist on the Channel Ten singing competition since it began in 2019, took to Instagram over the weekend to share the news.

“If someone had told me years ago that I’d be on a show with singing and dancing prawns, unicorns and an octopus, I would have thought they were crazy!” she wrote alongside a selfie with Urzila, Dannii and remaining panellist Dave Hughes.

“Along came The Masked Singer which gave me years of the most fun I’ve ever had on TV due largely to the fact that I worked with an amazing panel and host who have become lifelong friends.”

Jackie went on to explain that while it was “an incredibly tough decision”, she’s chosen to quit the series so she can spend more time with her daughter, Kitty.

“Filming always coincides with school holidays and after three years of missing out I’ve decided to spend my mid-year radio break holidaying with my daughter whilst she’s still happy to hang out with her mum,” she continued.

“I look forward to watching the show from the couch.”

While Channel Ten are yet to confirm who will be on the guessing panel for season four, the Herald Sun reports that Abbie Chatfield will be joining the show.

The former reality TV star, who recently launched her own fashion label, has gone from strength to strength in the entertainment industry since coming second on The Bachelor in 2019.

Following a brief stint on Bachelor In Paradise the following year, Abbie went on to win I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2021 and served as the host of Love Island Afterparty last season.

She also hosts her podcast, It’s A Lot, and her own national radio show, Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield, and recently embarked on an Australia-wide tour.

Meanwhile, season one panellist Lindsay Lohan is rumoured to be making her return to The Masked Singer Australia after a brief hiatus.

Speaking on The Morning Crew - Hughesy, Ed and Erin, Dave Hughes hinted that there will be “international superstars” joining him on the show.

“We are going international, it will be a game-changer for The Masked Singer. Watch this space,” he teased.

‘Unfortunately I won’t be returning’

Dannii announced late last month that she was leaving The Masked Singer due to scheduling conflicts.

“My fashion commitments in the UK conflict with scheduling of The Masked Singer filming this year, so unfortunately I won’t be returning,” she told the Herald Sun.

“I am sure with borders opening there will be loads of great surprises for everyone. I’ve loved every minute working on TMS and will miss my Inspector Minogue role.”

Meanwhile, Urzila previously confirmed on The Kyle and Jackie O Show that she won’t be returning because she will be on her comedy tour.

Although the guessing panel is currently up in the air, it’s believed that Osher Günsberg will continue to serve as the show’s host.
