The Block star criticised by fans for 'dangerous' act during family photoshoot
Fans have described the act as 'too dangerous'.
The Block’s Josh Barker has divided his followers with some calling out his ‘dangerous’ act during a family photoshoot with his model partner Elyse Knowles.
The 30-year-old carpenter, who won the show’s thirteenth season in 2017, was captured throwing his two-year-old son Sonny extremely high in the air as part of the outdoor shoot in Byron Bay.
The snap features Sonny smiling in the air at least a metre above Josh, while Elyse stands nearby and laughs along.
A behind-the-scenes video posted on Elyse’s Instagram Story shows a photographer crouching down to capture the moment as Josh performs the wild act a handful of times.

While some fans praised the photo and said it was a “great shot of Sonny thrown in the air”, others told Josh to “stop it”.
'Too dangerous'
The former reality star previously sparked backlash after he shared a photo of himself in May throwing Sonny into the air on the beach.
One concerned follower commented on the snap: “Ummm hmmm the healthcare worker in me shudders at this. It’s spectacular but too dangerous.”
Josh then replied and said they would have to “agree to disagree” because he has been doing it for Sonny’s entire life.
“He only weighs 13kgs, just father-son fun,” he added.
Others said they were “genuinely impressed” by how high he had thrown Sonny and joked that it looked like he was “flying a child-shaped drone”.
“My brain can't comprehend how high up that child is,” someone else remarked.
Josh and Elyse won The Block in 2017 and walked away with a $547,000 profit after radio host Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes purchased their Elsternwick property at the auction.
The couple moved from Melbourne to Byron Bay in 2019 and welcomed their firstborn Sonny in February 2021.
They revealed shortly after that they had gotten ‘secretly’ engaged, and Elyse gave birth to their second child Zaii in May this year.
