The Block fans point out morbid detail as Leah and Ash's house fails to sell
Viewers have questioned a very strange detail in House 2's front yard.
It’s been over a month since The Block auctions aired on TV and House 2’s Leah and Ash made the difficult decision to pass their property in.
While the house is still on the market, with an insider telling Yahoo Lifestyle there are currently zero prospective buyers, fans have begun to question what happened to the fish the couple bought for their front yard.
Leah and Ash went all out in front yard and facade week and purchased goldfish for their water feature, which was praised by the judges during their walkthrough and helped them win a Ford Mustang Mach-E worth $80,000.
Taking to Reddit this week, however, one fan pointed out that the fish are “probably dead now” because House 2 hasn’t sold yet.
“Mate those fish died within 5 minutes of them throwing them in,” one user replied, while another added, “Honestly I kind of assumed they’d be dead within a week”.
“There weren’t any fish at the inspection so… yep,” a different user replied, followed by one person who said, “Pretty sure the neighbourhood kitties would have made short work of them”.

Meanwhile, one viewer shared a lengthy post explaining why they thought the fish were “doomed” the moment Leah purchased them.
“Goldfish need a minimum of 50 gallons each fish, plus any fish keeper will tell you the water needs to go through the nitrogen cycle before you can add fish to it,” they detailed.
“Cycling a tank can take anywhere from 4-12 weeks. The amount of ammonia that number of fish would have been producing in an immature system would have led to massive burns, gill damage and probably death. Add to that the fact that it was a shallow ‘pond’ subject to massive temperature fluctuations and had no plant cover to hide from predators…”
They concluded that the “best case scenario” was that the fish were only put in the pond for the judging and were removed immediately after.
Yahoo Lifestyle has contacted Leah and Ash for comment.
Leah and Kristy's shock move post-show
This comes as rumours swirl that co-stars Leah and Kristy, who had quite a tumultuous friendship on the reality show, are looking into starting a podcast together.
An Australian talent manager confirmed to Yahoo Lifestyle that two major podcast production companies have been “circling the girls” to get them signed up for a project together.
“With the success of reality TV contestants launching their own podcasts, it is only a matter of time before these two get snapped up,” they said.
