The Bachelorette: Shock detail in new trailer for Brooke’s season

Not long after Channel 10 released the first trailer for The Bachelorette, showing Brooke Blurton looking stunning atop a cliff with a vast red-dirt landscape behind her, fans have now received a second teaser for the upcoming season.

The new clip showcases a number of this year’s male and female suitors in what’s said to be a history-making season, but there’s one contestant in particular that may surprise viewers.

As well as a bearded man arriving on a lawnmower, a woman in a red gown and a gentleman in a tan suit, a brunette woman in a white dress is shown arriving on the red carpet ready to fight for Brooke's heart.

Eagle-eyed fans would recognise her as Jamie-Lee Dayz, who was an intruder on Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins’ season of The Bachelor in 2018.

The 30-year-old bisexual woman appeared alongside Brooke in season six - where she, unfortunately, had to use crutches for the majority of the show after a group date injury - and made it all the way to the top eight.

Her appearance on The Bachelorette will definitely be interesting as she and Brooke were rumoured to have developed a romance in the mansion.

“I have a lot of love for Brooke and she’s such a legend but we’re definitely just friends,” she told Mamamia after her elimination.

Brooke echoed her sentiments in an interview with OK! Magazine, saying that they had a “great friendship” but there was “definitely no sexual relationship there”.

In addition to the first glimpse at the participants, the new trailer shows Brooke getting ready for her red carpet debut in a sparkling black-gloved dress while she opens up about her feelings.

“Being the Bachelorette, I get teary, I get emotional, I get goosebumps,” she says. “Because I’m the first Indigenous, bisexual Bachelorette. The barriers that have been broken just by doing this I think is huge.”

The 26-year-old goes on to recount her first experience on the dating show where she made it to the final four.

“I first came into the mansion in Nick Cummins’ season of The Bachelor and genuinely thought that I was going to be the girl at the end,” she recalls. “But it didn’t work out.”

Fans would also remember Brooke’s brief appearance on season two of Bachelor In Paradise, where she was left heartbroken when Alex Nation chose Bill Goldsmith over her.

“I gave it another shot in Paradise,” she says. “I am just a girl trying to fall in love.

“It’s not about gender, it’s always about connection. A partner that is on the same team as me, that’s what I want. I just want to find my person.”

The video ends after Brooke slow dances with a blonde woman and tells the cameras while blushing: “I am mind-blown. Let's just pack it up. We're done!”
