The Bachelor fans slam new teaser for being ‘unrealistic’

Fans of The Bachelor have been treated to a brand new teaser for the upcoming season, with many calling it ‘unrealistic’.

The ninth season of the dating show will follow 31-year-old pilot Jimmy Nicholson on his quest to find love.

The new video features Jimmy walking through an airport, surrounded by loved-up couples of a variety of ages, races and sexualities.

He then makes his way to the runway, with host Osher Günsberg handing him a bouquet of roses before the Bachelor boards the plane.

“Fasten your seatbelts Jimmy, you’re in for the ride of your life,” Osher tells him.

Jimmy, who is of New Zealand and Fijian heritage, then flies a plane labelled ‘BachAir’ across Australia while rose petals fill the sky.

“First Officer Jimmy is looking for the love of his life,” the caption reads.

“The Bachelor Australia, coming soon to 10.”

The ad also features the Academy award-winning song Up Where We Belong from the 1982 film An Officer and a Gentleman.

Fans have taken to social media to highlight that the new video doesn’t show any realistic aspects of airports in 2021.

“Jeez, no Covid in this ad,” one person commented.

“Where are the masks in the airport?,” another fan asked.

“He’s not even in the correct seat,” someone pointed out.

“Wish they showed me at the airport running to the Jetstar terminal with 2 minutes until take off,” someone else joked.
