Fans of The Bachelor Australia were eagerly awaiting Matt Agnew’s highly anticipated ‘walkout’ on the show last night, after it had been heavily promoted to happen in that very episode.

However, the reality show failed to live up to the hype, with the 32-year-old astrophysicist certainly not walking out on the bachelorettes. Understandably, this left many viewers fuming.

Plenty of furious fans have taken to social media to express their frustration, some even accusing Channel Ten producers of misleading them with dramatic promos to ‘drag in viewers’.

“Is it just me, or didn't they advertise throughout the week that the NAB worker bachelor was going to have a dummy spit and walk out and it was going to be on Wednesday. Did I miss something?” tweeted one viewer.

“The previews showed Matt in a different suit for Walkout night. Clearly not tonite (sic) kids. #draggingintheviewers #TheBachelorAU,” penned another.

Last night’s episode saw Matt stay firmly on the ground at the cocktail party, though he was flitting from woman to woman as they all desperately begged for his time to secure the next single date.

Ultimately, newcomer Monique scored the date card, which didn’t sit well with her ‘lookalike’ rival Nichole, who stormed off amid a swearing frenzy.

Earlier in the episode, fan favourite Elly went on her single date with Matt in his hometown of Melbourne, the couple visiting the city’s famous Flemington Racecourse, and even rubbing shoulders with racing royalty, Gai Waterhouse.

Then a couple of original bachelorettes and newcomers were selected for an AFL-themed group date, which led to Nichole being chosen as best and fairest and nabbing some alone time with Matt at the end of the date.

The Bachelor continues tonight at 7:30pm on Channel Ten.
