Taylor Swift Fans Slam Shakira for ‘Obvious’ Copycat Eras Tour: ‘Is That Legal’

Fans of singer Taylor Swift are coming for Colombian star Shakira ahead of her new tour because of the many alleged similarities between the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour and Swift's record-breaking Eras Tour.

Not long after it was announced that the North American leg of Shakira's tour would be postponed as they switch to stadium locations due to high demand, the publication Marca revealed that the 47-year-old broke one of Swift's many records with her upcoming concerts.

Shakira revealed that she will perform five consecutive dates at the Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City, Mexico, completely selling out the shows and becoming the first woman to do so. She beat Swift's previous record of selling out four consecutive concerts at the venue.

In response to the exciting news, Shakira reportedly wrote on social media, "Mexico dear, five dates at the Estadio GNP. We broke the record." Shakira's upcoming world tour shares other venues with Swift's Eras Tour, such as Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Fla., where Swift just performed.

As Swifties took in the recent news about Shakira's tour, some brought up an incident from last fall when the "Hips Don't Lie" singer released merch that was very similar to Swift's Eras Tour merch.

The fan said, "Shakira is on a mission," as they shared a photo of the merch and one of the stadium venues that featured a stage layout similar to the one Swift uses for Eras Tour.

"Oh wait that’s- why would they make it so obvious lmao," wrote one fan, as another asked, "is that legal."

"The shakeras tour✨," joked another, as supportive fans wrote things like, "She is a legend," and "She is a QUEEN and she loves Taylor!"

"We love you queen and we love how Taylor was a source of inspiration. Legends recognizing legends. ❤️," read a similar comment.

Despite the mixed reactions to some aspects of Shakira's upcoming tour, the singer's upcoming concerts are extremely popular already, with the tour starting next February.
