Taylor Russell Channels 1940s Fashion in Vintage John Galliano for 2024 Venice Film Festival Red Carpet
Taylor Russell attended a jury photo call during the 2024 Venice Film Festival on Wednesday. Russell, alongside other international critics, filmmakers and actors, will help decide the winner of the Luigi de Laurentiis Award for a Debut Film.
At the photo call, Russell sported a vintage John Galliano ensemble from the designer’s spring 1995 collection. Channeling the hourglass silhouettes of 1940s skirt suits, Russell’s look consisted of a checkered tailored blazer featuring a flared hem, as well as a matching slit midi skirt. The actress accessorized with diamond studs and sheer Gianvito Rossi pumps.

The “Bones and All” star has been a global ambassador for Loewe since 2022. She’s since posed for the label’s ad campaigns and opened their spring 2023 runway show in Paris. Jonathan Anderson, Loewe‘s creative director, met Russell through a mutual friend: Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino.
“Jonathan has been at the forefront of creativity in fashion, with such a distinct vision and voice,” Russell said in a statement following the announcement of her ambassadorship. “I am excited for our imaginations to reach new heights as we explore and collaborate in this incredibly special partnership.”
