Taye Diggs Remembers Filming 1999's “The Best Man ”as 'a Great Time': 'We All Were Just Laughing' (Exclusive)
The cast of the 1999 classic have had some fun opportunities to reunite over the years
Taye Diggs has nothing but fond memories of the cast of The Best Man.
The actor, 51, starred in the beloved 1999 romantic comedy alongside Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, Terrence Howard, Morris Chestnut, Harold Perrineau, Monica Calhoun, Melissa De Sousa and Regina Hall. The cast also came back for a 2013 sequel, The Best Man Holiday.
Speaking with PEOPLE about his partnership with Lysol Air Sanitizer, Diggs says he has "great memories" of his time making the film, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.
"Some things as simple as certain rehearsals where we all were just laughing mean so much. And it was a different time when we all felt really free, no stress, and being allowed to just work without worry," he tells PEOPLE exclusively.
"Well, I'm old enough now to say it was a great time and I think we took it for granted. They make movies differently now, and I'm so happy that we were a part of that time and that movie meant so much to so many people. I'm very proud. I'm very proud of it."

PEOPLE recently caught up with Lathan, who starred as Robyn, love interest to Diggs’ Harper. The actress was happy to report that the cast stays close.
“I talked to Nia yesterday. I talk to Regina all the time. Taye and I just DM'ed each other,” Lathan, 53, told PEOPLE. "We don't hang out all the time, but there is, when we do see each other, a feeling of family. It definitely feels like beyond friends.”
On Saturday, Oct. 26, Diggs visited The Germ Zone experience in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in Champions Lane as part of his partnership with Lysol. The event, held at the University of Alabama's Crimson Tide's pregame fan fest area, located outside the northwest gates of Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium, featured The Germ Booth.
The experience was "very exciting" for Diggs, who considers prioritizing his health part of prioritizing his family life.
"I'm a father and I'm getting older and my health is something that is very important to me. So this partnership kind of makes sense because it just is easy," he says.
"When I'm worried about germs and catching colds and keeping my son healthy, eating my vitamins and doing my exercise, it's easy to just take Lysol air sanitizer and clear the room."
