Tammin Sursok opens up to fans about returning to Home and Away

Tammin Sursok has revealed to fans whether or not she plans on returning to Home and Away, where she began her career as Dani Sutherland.

The 37-year-old, who left the show 17 years ago, asked fans to share their unpopular opinions on her Instagram Stories when one person said they thought Dani "should return to the Bay".

"I think her time is done," Tammin responded with a laughing emoji. "Where did she go anyway?"

Dani was sent to prison for attempted murder after hitting Kane (Sam Atwell) with her car.

Tammin won the Logie Award for Most Popular New Female Talent in 2001 for the role.

The actress later moved to LA in 2006 and soon joined the cast of the American soap opera The Young and the Restless.

Speaking with New Idea earlier this year, Tammin said she'd consider doing a "cameo", but thinks Dani's storyline is done.

"It’s where I started and what gave me everything in my career – if it wasn’t for that show I don’t know where my life would’ve gone. I’m very grateful for the experience and the opportunity and so I would definitely do a cameo," she said.

"I don’t think I would go back and replay that character for a long time because I think her story was told and I think that character is done and I love to explore opportunities. But I would definitely give a kiss to all my fans’ way by coming back on."

The actress is currently in Australia to film a movie called You, Me and the Penguins in Brisbane.

Earlier this month she took to Instagram to share her excitement about starting work on the project. She wrote, "DAY 1 of FILMING!! I’m pinching myself. A hard year and a half of lockdowns in the USA after just having my second child meant I wasn’t able to be on set for a while.

"I’ve been acting in film and TV for 20 years and it’s where I feel like I belong. It is my home. I’m so grateful to be 'home' again. And shooting in Australia!

"I can’t wait to show you this character on your screens and I’m just savouring each moment in gratitude. Thank you all for your constant support and love."
