Home and Away stars throughout the years: Where are they now?

'You know we belong together, you and I forever and ever...' Those opening lines of the theme song of classic Aussie soap Home and Away cut deep with many an angsty teen all over the country.

We all wanted nothing more than to hang at the beach with Kim, Leah, Vinnie and Angel.

But as we grew up, so did they and many of the actors who appeared on the show went on to become household names around the world!

Chris started as a teen on the show working from 2004-2007 before he took a punt to try his luck in Hollywood.

With his good looks, he was quickly cast in Star Trek as George Kirk before he landed the iconic role of Thor in 2011. He has since become a Hollywood leading man but he credit's Home and Away with giving him his work ethic.

"I spent three and a half years on the show. You shoot 20 scenes a day, five episodes a week, so you sink or swim," He told the Herald Sun. "If you can make it in that kind of environment, a movie set, where you have two or three days to do a scene and months to prepare, feels like a luxury."

Chris lives with wife Elsa Pataky and their three children just outside Byron Bay.

Since then she has been nominated for best actress in a leading role Academy Awards for her 2003 role in 21 Grams and for Lo Impossible in 2013.

He is now based in Los Angeles and has enjoyed a plethora of work since the seven seasons he spent on True Blood. But Hollywood hasn't changed the down-to-earth Aussie.

"Like anyone, I’ve had my struggles and had my stresses," he told New Idea recently. "But it’s life. You’re going to get hit with that. The sooner you realise that there’s hardship involved, the more beautiful life can become for it. Some people don’t get that chance, so I feel like you’ve got to really live for absolutely every moment."

She has worked hard and consistently and her smallish role in the award-winning movie Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri showed the world she has what it takes to make it in Hollywood. Since then she starred in the television remake of Picnic At Hanging Rock and has co-starred in Bill & Ted Face the Music.

Who didn't want to be Angel in the 90s! She may have been a runaway but with her beauty and personality, she could charm anyone. And Melissa was the same.

Her model good looks may have opened doors for her when she sought fame and fortune in America but she followed through with talent and a great work ethic.
