Survivor's Jordie receives surprise news from Sam Frost during filming

Sam Frost made a surprise appearance on Australian Survivor during Tuesday night’s episode when her fiancé Jordie Hansen won a video call home at the Survivor Auction.

Jordie immediately became emotional when he saw his partner, who was eight weeks pregnant when he left to film the reality show in August last year.

“Babe! Oh my god, hi!” the former Home and Away actress remarked as soon as she joined the call. “I can’t believe you won, you little legend!”

When Jordie asked how her pregnancy was going, Sam confirmed she was “good and happy and healthy”.

“Babe, everything has come back absolutely perfect,” she said as Jordie’s tribemates applauded in the background. “It’s healthy, it’s growing so well. Everything is perfect.”

Jordie then burst into tears of joy when Sam announced that they’re having a boy and showed him a sonogram.

“Oi, look what else I’ve got for the baby,” she added while holding up a tiny pair of denim overalls matching Jordie’s iconic outfit from Survivor: Blood V Water last year.

'I'm so proud of you'

Sam ended the call asserting she doesn’t want Jordie “to worry or feel guilty” while he’s away filming the show in Samoa.

“I can’t stop thinking about you,” he replied. “It’s been really difficult… I miss you.”

“I miss you so much,” she said. “We think about you every single second of the day and we’re so lonely without you. But we’re really proud and I don’t want to hear from you until you go all the way, okay? So don’t worry about me.

“I love you so much, I’m so proud of you! Keep going, okay baby? Tell everyone to be nice to you, okay?”

The surprise call comes after Jordie told Yahoo Lifestyle it was a “tricky decision to make” when he got the call to be a part of the new season.

“While obviously, you want to take the opportunity, and I was so grateful and I couldn't believe I got the call, I had a nine-week pregnant fiancée waiting for me at home who's a little bit sick,” he said, before quickly adding, “Well, ‘a little bit sick’ is an under-exaggeration - she had full-time morning sickness and that was difficult.”

However, Jordie said Sam was “super excited” about the thought of him playing for a second time and there was no way she was going to let him turn the offer down.

“She booted me out the door basically,” he laughed. “I was having moments where I’d go, ‘Do I go? Do I not?’, and she was like, ‘No, you gotta go, you can't not!’.”
