Survivor contestant hits back after outcry over 'skimpy' bikini
Swimsuit model Sam Schoers stripped down to a tiny bikini for a physical challenge on Australian Survivor and risked a major wardrobe malfunction in the process.
And now after being eliminated from the reality show, she’s hit back at the outcry that ensued after the muddy challenge aired.
Fans of the show took to Twitter to comment on Sam’s outfit choice, with one asking, “How long do you reckon that red string bikini will last?”

But now Sam has revealed there was nothing ‘skimpy’ about the bikini at all.
“Firstly, I don’t know why there was ‘uproar’, they were actually just bathers. There were plenty of other people in bathers, some of the boys were in their underwear,” she told news.com.au.
She also added that while the outfit “might have looked delicate” it absolutely was not, revealing she had the top reinforced before going on the show and the sides of the bottoms were adjustable so she could tighten them up.
That aspect ended up coming in extremely handy because she lost 8kg during her short time on the show.
The 30-year-old was one of this season’s ‘contenders’, before being blindsided and exiting the show in a shock elimination on Monday night’s episode.
“I am privileged to have had the opportunity to play. I held my own in challenges and loved my time with the contenders on our beach - I will never forget those nights,” she wrote on Instagram afterwards.
“The ending for me was not what I imagined however you can’t hate the player you gotta hate the game. And unfortunately I couldn’t do that! Am I disappointed, of course. Will it dampen my experience, absolutely not... What a ride.”
And it’s not the first time Sam has stared on a reality TV show. She made her first appearance on our screens back in 2011, as part of Team Bikini Model in Season 1 of The Amazing Race Australia.
